Abstract Analysis Assignment
My analysis of an object:
- the color of yellowing bone, worn down by the elements
- a relic which tells a story; some may still be found today
- can be found underwater, beneath sand
- a natural structure which may be used as shelter
- smell of salty, mineral water with metallic undertones
- sounds may include rhythmic, hollow clanking, and occasional voices
My interpretation of the analysis:
- the object becomes a shelter for the memories which you wish to forget
- you then throw it into the water, in an attempt to leave the memory in the past
- however, the object keeps coming back, reminding you of the emotions you experienced rather that the details of the memory itself
- the object appears slightly worn down by the repetition of this process
- the shape of the object actually amplifies the memory inside
